Will the real Jimmy two-shoes, please stand up!
Here are the sketches I did for the pre-production short of the series " Jimmy Two-Shoes ". This was back in the day when the story of Jimmy was actually in " HELL " and was populated with serial killers and murders. Jimmy was also dead and could be treated as so, just like some of my drawings show. Heloise also was quit different, she was a psychopath that love to torture Jimmy but also loved him. Her personallity kept switching between her love of Jimmy, and her hatred for him. I thought this version had a lot more potential for comedy, but the powers that be disagreed.
These are some of the doodles I did to get in to the style and mood of the show. None of them were acually used, but were a lot of fun to do!
Dammit phil, is there a style you can't draw in?
ReplyDeleteI love it...awesome stuff!
Love it! Nice to see the old stuff.
ReplyDeleteIt's true, eh? The Hell version lent itself to some pretty fun and disturbing stuff. Love the ol' "got yer face" gag. Yeah, my dad used to play that with me...
ReplyDelete...it hurt.
Great stuff Phil.
top notch characters man, !
ReplyDeleteGreat poses, Phil! The torn face is definitely my favorite of the batch.
ReplyDeleteI agree though...the original pitch idea was the damn cool.
I got the chance to do some bg development really early on the show, and I was kind of suprised to see how the idea for hell had morphed when it aired on disney.
Regardless though...still a great show though. Congrats to Sean and the crew.
Looking sweet.
ReplyDeleteHow was Jimmy supposed to have died and why was he sent to hell?
ReplyDeleteI'd also like to know how Jimmy died & why he went to Hell...
ReplyDeleteAnd... Don't you think you'd have better luck with that kind of a show on ADULT SWIM? And not DISNEY? :/
As I've said, these are fantastic production sketches.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if this is the best place to tell you this but a user on DeviantART has been posting your sketches onto their gallery as their own.

I believe someone has stolen your artwork and posted it as their own.

I've already reported the stolen images, but you may have to get in contact with the sites mods as they don't often look into accusations of art theft seriously.

Wow, just wow I love the idea of the Hell concept. I feel it would have been an amazing direction with an interesting path it could take. I would love to see a possible twist for adult swim or a web toon even. The adult themes with this twisted world just makes me go wow. Thanks for the work and keep it up.
ReplyDeleteWOW
ReplyDeleteIm not going to lie to you, Im not a fan of the Jimmy Two shoes that was released but this wouldve been brilliant!
Its a shame, I think Disney was the wrong channel for this kind of show- theyre to quick to censor anything slightly risky and most of the shows they release feel the same
I feel bad the world missed out on your original ideas, but Im defiantly going to keep a look out for your future stuff! Im hoping for something as creative as these seem :D
Loving the early concepts.
ReplyDeleteYou guys should bring it back on Adult Swim or reboot it in comics.
ReplyDeletePleasee!!! I NEED THIS PILOT!!! Its my dream
ReplyDeleteWhat year were these drawn before you guys changed things around?
ReplyDeleteThese were drawn about a year and a half before it aired on TV. Also, I did not create this show, I was just a guy that worked on it.
ReplyDeleteFor the Pilot, It was never aired and was only 5 minutes long, it was only shown to producers as "proof of concept".
For those that keep asking me, I do not own a copy of the 5 min pilot.
Jimmy two shoes pilot
DeleteMay you please upload concept art with beezy and cerbee please
Could you describe the scenes you worked on in Pilot? I heard that the official channel posted the Pilot in 2008 but the official channel was closed
ReplyDeleteNope, this happened over30 years ago and I don't really remember.
ReplyDeleteI've posted all I've got.
ReplyDeleteRemember seeing breezy concepts from the pilot, well at least model sheets
