Are You a Member?!

CIRCLE JERKS - MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: SY-KLONE

CIRCLE JERKS - JOHN CARPENTER'S THE THING

Just some illustrations I did recently for the wonderfully weird website "STRANGE KIDS CLUBS". Full of fun stuff for the child in you and your kids to, have some fun together.

But be responsible parents and view the content before you share with your kids, not everybody shares the same views on what is appropriate for your child.

Enjoy.

Dredd is in the Air!

JUDGE DREDD

This week I got a nice surprise in the mail, a bunch of the "Judge Dredd" comic ( issue 11 - alternate cover ) I did the cover for. The good people at IDW publishing sent them over out of the kindness of there hearts. But since the comic is kind of hard to get, here is the bonus poster you get on the back cover.

It was originally going to be the real cover ( see previous post under the Judge Dredd label ) but IDW was not sure if they had the rights to use the "Judge Death" character. But permission was granted and everything worked out in the end, now you get this as a bonus poster ( without the titles and IDW logo ) since I did it anyway.

My Judge Dredd For IDW!

JUDGE DREDD: ISSUE #11 - VARIANT COVER

JUDGE DREDD

That's right, I did a Judge Dredd cover..... well a variant cover anyway. IDW initially wanted a Pixar Judge Dredd, but I had to explain that they are just Photoshop mash-ups that are not very good quality to print due to the size I can make them ( I did one anyway ). So they got my old fashion cartoon poster for a cover instead which also works for there month of "IDW gets animated" covers. This issue hits the shelves in September ( so I am told ) and they are only doing this for variant covers.

My cover is Judge Dredd #11 ( Variant cover ) Sept.

Well , that's the last of it. It came out at Christmas 2008 with the new phones, it also came in a tin case. That was my first professional comic book and probably the last, but you never know what the future holds.

See ya next week!

Motorola Comic Book: Part Two!

COVER

This was the original cover for the comic, but the client didn't understand the looming head of evil.

COVER

This is the final cover, sorry I don't have the colour version of this one.

Again, I'm sorry I don't have the colour versions, but I prefer it in black and white. You will notice some thing don't flow to well, but those are the changes the client made and they have no idea how story flows in the comic book world. Also I didn't have time to stylize it as much as I would have liked, still..... I think it turned out pretty good.

Motorola Comic Book: Part One!

ROCKER

In the summer of 2008, I was asked by a friend to help out with a contract he had with Motorola. The result was a comic book of heroes that represent the different type of phones on the market. I designed them more or lest to look like "Bruce Timm" style, they were happy with that. There was not much time for this project, so the clients were not that picky.

UNA

Most of the designs got very little revision, this one was strange because I first designed her with long hair then change my mind with the second sketch. They requested the long hair without ever seeing my first sketch.

RAZOR

This one had a drastic change from " Robin " type character to a slick Japanese ninja type guy.

EX

Ex was thrown in at the last minute and the style was already established, so his design came quite easily with only a helmet revision.

SPY PHONE

Spy Phone is there code for "i phone", get it? Yeah, I thought it was pretty lame to. He started out as a giant robot, but Motorola really did not like that. They were not to thrilled with my second attempt ether.

SPY PHONE

They loved my third shot at it, but thought he looked to much like " Hades " from Disney's Hercules movie, so I gave him a haircut.

MINIONS

What can I say, they wanted minions, lots of minions.

CHARACTER SHEET

This was a printed sheet that came with the comic book giving all the back story to the characters. The writer was rushed also, so forgive the poor guy.
